Jennifer Ratliff’s Transformation story
My name is Jennifer Ratliff. I’ve always struggled with body image and weight issues for as long as I can remember. My problem wasn’t so much that I didn’t want to work out but my nutrition wasn’t always on point. I yo-yo dieted my whole life, I wanted that quick fix, something that worked fast, I ended up overusing diet pills as well as diuretics in order to get quick results. I became obsessive with exercise and would spend hours and hours in the gym. I didn’t care how I lost the weight as long as I could loose it fast. I tried every fad diet out there including HCG, you name it, I tried it. I would get in good habits but would always end up falling back into my old ways causing me to regain every pound i lost plus more. I’d become depressed and I’d use food to cope. No matter how thin I would get, I was never truly happy or comfortable in my own skin. Dieting doesn’t fix what’s on the inside. Learning to love yourself for who you are is a process and is only achieved the right way. I was first introduced to my coach Sandi Townsend ifbb pro last year by a friend. I initially started out doing a transformation plan with her to loose weight and get in shape for summer. In the past it was always a bucket list goal of mine to compete in a bikini competition so in Jan 2017 I committed to competition prep with Sandi and set a goal to compete in the NSL April 1. Through her I have learned how to fuel my body with the right combination of foods and exercise. I learned loosing weight has to be a lifestyle change not a quick fix. I’ve also learned you don’t have to starve, take diet pills and workout for hours a day to achieve results. Her plans and workouts are custom to each client and she truly cares about her clients success. I’ve never felt more confident and comfortable in my own skin than I do now. I can honestly say that I love the person I’ve become because I fought hard to become her. Hard work, dedication, consistency and support from my family has gotten me to where I am today. I’m thankful for Sandi and what she has taught me. Many have asked me “what’s next for you?” I plan to continue doing more shows in the future and using the knowledge she has taught me to stay healthy and fit. I plan on bringing a better package to the next show. That’s my plan.
